There is only one choice in life -- and that is in fact to choose.
And when I was six years old, I chose to communicate and to understand; I chose to be a writer -- and that was many years ago.
Five years ago I wrote the following for my daughter's Christmas card:
To My Precious Daughter--2005
It’s not quantity, of course, that measures you. And the quality of you can’t be compromised -- at least not precisely, or without a vote of the planets.
Know as you grow that compromise is all that you will feel if you merely seek to know; rather than merrily know to seek.
You are a wave which laps the shore, but originates in the water, not the well.
As such, you have no face, and are never late, because you have no place to be, and mirrors beg the question of vanity.
Have a sweet and always Silent Night
Merry Christmas.....Love, Dad.
And the rest of me you'll find in my hubs.
